Hello, Robot. Design between Human and Machine exhibition is at Vitra Design Museum. Find out more about it!
Robots become more important in our lives every single day. We might not even notice, but they are becoming part of our daily activities, whether at home or work. But the image Holywood gave us of robots is completely obsolete. Now the robots are drones, sensors, and intelligent devices, all connected to the world wide web, that have access to information and can take commands from humans.
The design exhibition is divided into four sections. The first two are a look at the past, how famous they became in pop culture and how robot science was applied to the industries of the world. The second part, that includes the remaining last sections is a look at the present and future of robotics. One of these sections focus on robots as friends and help in everyday activities and in the fusion between humans and robotics, through smart cities and intelligent implants in the human body.
Throughout the exhibition, questions can be found that will get the public thinking with the aim of generating a debate and encouraging enthusiasm and reflexion about new technologies. It shows the amazing possibilities that are out there but does not hide the dangers of advancing further with robots.
