Some stores are to shop and others are so immensely beautiful that we wish we live there. The new Aquazzura store is an Art Deco showstopper.
The Italian luxury footwear brand has opened its first US store along Madison Avenue in New York.
The retail interiors by Ryan Korban features a play in pastel tones, texture, and materials to combine and create a stylish boutique for its Manhattan location but still reminiscent of the footwear brand’s Italian roots.
The 2,221 square foot boutique presents 17 feet of street window dressing with the building’s original 1876 façade.
Inside the boutique imbues a femininity and elegance that is influenced by interior designer Ryan Korban’s choice of pink marble and suede; juxtaposed with the black and white striped archways and gold fixtures that remind us the Art Deco style.
The domed ceilings, columns and archways, influenced by the famous Basilica in Florence is a nod to classical Italian architecture. This, joined with the simple colour scheme, lighting, and thin gold display units giving the overall interior a more contemporary and elegant aesthetic.
Pink marble and suede juxtaposed by monochromatic archways and bold gold fixtures give the store the perfect comeback filling that the brand wants the clients to indulge.
Korban’s design for the space merges classic florentine elements with a contemporary Manhattan aesthetic.
The store black and white stripes done in arches is an homage to the Basilica of Santa Maria Novella in Florence.
‘I love that this space has a unique soul from my other stores. I wanted it to feel like Madison Avenue’s very own ‘church of shoes’.’ – Edgardo Osorio, creative director of Aquazzura reminds us.
This new gorgeous boutique is situated between 74th and 75th streets, and next to the met Breuer.
One more remarkable example of style that we need to see and be inspired by.
